Art that Tells the Story
I'm currently working on a book project...a catalogue of sorts for our church's collection Art that Tells the Story (i.e., Creation, Fall, Redemption, and Consummation), as well as other Story-telling art.
The church has already purchased 11 or 12 originals from local and other artists, and we have a long wish list. The book will contain the pieces we've already purchased, shown, and hope to purchase soon (around 30-40 total). It will also contain essays by author Mike Wittmer, and our pastor Jeff Halsted.
I'm currently selling ad space to local businesses, non-profits, sponsors, etc. Does anyone know of individuals, businesses, etc. that might be interested in helping with a project like this? I'm currently talking to Cornerstone University, Mercury Head Gallery, LaFontsee Gallery, and a few others. The ads are $500 for 3x5" (approx.). In exchange the sponsors get 10 copies of the book, which they can sell to recoup 50% of their investment. Another option is to prebuy copies of the book. I'm selling bundles of 10 books for $100, and hope to go to print in the fall of 2010. I'd appreciate input, advice, leads, support...anything to get/keep things rolling. Thanks!
